Expedition Training

This is a weekend course where you get to prepare for a larger expedition. Among other things, you get to practice crampon technique, handle an ice ax, glacier rescue, join rope teams, abseil and climb fixed ropes and winter camping. In addition, we hold several lectures in areas such as navigation, trip planning and acclimatization. Everything so that you can arrive more prepared for your next expedition!

Course objectives
After the course, you should feel more prepared for a larger expedition. Maybe you will climb Elbrus or Island Peak. It is also good training for an alpine course in the Alps or for those of you who invest in doing your own expeditions in the future.

We start with lectures on the first day at 09:00 Moumo and then head to Flottsbro and finish at Häggsta climbing rock at 16:00 on the second day.

 

Equipment
You will need the following:

Tent
Sleeping pad
Sleeping bag
Camping kitchen with fuel and lighter
Dinner to cook in the kitchen
Breakfast to prepare in the kitchen
Two water bottles ex Nalgene with large opening
Thermos, mug, cutlery, knife and plate if needed
Backpack approx. 60-80L
Alpine boots / boots
Shell jacket & pants (waterproof)
Warm down jacket
Fleece
Underwear (preferably in merino wool)
Warm socks 2 pairs
Gloves (warm)
Gloves for climbing
Hat
Buff
Sunglasses/Goggles
Hygiene products
Compass
Headlamp
Camp shoes
Crampons compatible with your boots (can be borrowed if you don't have one)
Ice ax (available to borrow if you don't have one)
Harness (available to borrow if you don't have one)

2 pcs 120 mm loop (available to borrow if you don't have one)

In addition to the course with IFMGA guide & loan of climbing equipment, local transport between Moumo and Flottsbro / Häggsta is also included
