Deep snow, hot springs, incredible food and skiing through magical birch forests.
Join us on a ski journey to Hokkaido, Japan, created for women who want to progress, ski truly great powder and do so in a supportive, like-minded group.
Thanks to cold winds from Siberia, Hokkaido receives enormous amounts of snow each winter — often up to 15 meters per season. The result is light, dry powder and some of the most playful tree skiing in the world.
This trip is for skiers who want to combine excellent skiing with progression, community and a strong group dynamic. The pace is adapted to the group, with a focus on skiing as much as possible, building confidence and enjoying a fantastic week together on snow.
Throughout the week we move between several areas to find the best conditions. We stay in three different locations and pick the highlights: the Niseko area, Kiroro and Furano.
Short travel distances allow us to maximize ski time and adapt day by day to where the snow is best.
This trip is about more than just powder. During the week you’ll experience several of Hokkaido’s best ski areas, move through different landscapes and see how the terrain and snow vary from place to place. At the same time, we experience Japanese winter culture up close — small local restaurants, onsens after long ski days and food that often becomes as memorable as the skiing itself. The combination of incredible snow, culture and shared experience makes this trip far more than just a ski holiday.
Most of our skiing is lift-accessed, but we use skins when it gives us access to better lines. Often this means short tours:
20–40 minutes of climbing to reach untouched terrain, or an easy return after the last run of the day.
We ask everyone to bring touring bindings and skins for flexibility. The pace and length of any tours are fully adapted to the group.
This trip is designed for women who want to:
ski more off-piste
become more confident in powder and trees
improve technique
ski in a small, supportive group
We actively work on technique throughout the week and adapt terrain choices to the group’s level. The focus is progression and good skiing — not pushing limits unnecessarily.
Hokkaido is Japan’s northernmost island and is easily reached via a short domestic flight from Tokyo. It offers vast forests, open spaces and over 80 ski resorts. The snow is light and dry, the terrain playful and the vertical relatively moderate, allowing for long ski days without excessive fatigue.
Beyond skiing, you’ll experience onsens (hot springs), outstanding food and Japanese winter culture.
Group size: Maximum 6 participants
Guide: Female IFMGA mountain guide
The small group allows for a relaxed pace, strong group dynamics and flexibility in daily planning.
If you don’t have your own skis, we recommend renting at home and bringing them with you. Skis can also be rented in Japan through us. Select this option when booking and provide boot size, ski length and weight.
You should:
be comfortable on red/black runs
have prior off-piste experience
feel comfortable skiing in trees
You don’t need to be an expert.
You do need curiosity and a willingness to progress.
Skiing on Hokkaido often feels more forgiving than off-piste in the Alps thanks to the consistent powder. Ice and crust are rare due to frequent snowfall. However, comfort skiing in trees is essential to fully enjoy this trip.
Many women want to ski Japan but hesitate to join groups where the culture feels competitive or male-dominated. This trip creates a different dynamic: more focus on progression, community and genuinely enjoying the skiing together.
The outline below describes the general flow of the trip. Exact ski areas depend on weather and snow conditions — our priority is always to ski the best snow available.
